Apparently, Justin Trudeau wants to bring back the long form Census forms. Why? Is it necessary? According to the Liberal Star, It was "scrapped" by the Conservatives in 2011. But Justin wants to bring it back. Let's look at programs. It was Jean Chretien in 1993 that "Scrapped" the EH 101 helicopter program so we shouldn't think that the liberals haven't scrapped anything either. They can scrap or bring back from the junk yard any idea idea they like. Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty wanted to bring back Photo Radar. An idea from the NDP in the 1990's.
The difference is that liberals have bad ideas while Conservatives have good ones.
Why shouldn't we have new helicopters that can do search and rescue operations. If in fact there was an emergency in the Northern part of the Country, we wouldn't have the equipment or the manpower to rescue them. We cannot defend our freedom or our sovereignty if the Americans wanted to invade. One time, during the 1990's When Jean Chretien was PM, the U.S. sent a Naval Sub into our Northern Hemisphere. It was discovered by maybe a spy plane or perhaps by satellite. In our laws any foreign object not without permission seen in our hemisphere is an act of war. It may be that the U.S. had our permission. But if not, well...
Okay, so is this a good idea? maybe. But wait until the first budget, coming in April 2016. That will be the test of what this liberal Government will do. Watch for any of the things coming in the next 4 years.
- No Income Splitting
- Increase the GST
- Personal Income Tax hike
- Fewer Jobs (I'll be hard pressed to think Trudeau did a better job then Harper).
- Health Tax (like the one in Ontario)
- I wouldn't expect a Tax break.
